Brotherhood

Founded in 1890 at Cornell as a Law Fraternity, Delta Chi first appeared at Northwestern in 1893. In 1909 when the fraternity decided to switch over to a general fraternity, the Northwestern Chapter could no longer continue to exist due to low single membership numbers. After laying dormant for over 80 years, Delta Chi made its return back to Northwestern in 1997, and ever since has been a rapidly expanding and successful fraternity in the Northwestern Greek Community.

The Northwestern Delta Chi chapter currently has 47 active brothers; 23 of these brothers live in the Delta Chi house located at 619 Colfax Street (just next to Elder). As an active chapter, Delta Chi brothers plan tons of events throughout the year. Each fall, Delta Chi's have a brotherhood retreat where the entire chapter goes to a resort and have time to hang out and have fun. In the winter, we have had a brotherhood ski trip where we go up to Cascade Mountain in Wisconsin for a day. In the spring, we have our annual trip to Milwaukee where we tour the Miller Brewery, eat at Culver's, and attend a Brewers baseball game. While these big trips typically happen only once a quarter, Delta Chi's enjoy tons of smaller events throughout the year. From broomball to mini-golf trips, tackle football games in the snow to intramural hockey in the winter, Delta Chi's have a great time with whatever they do.
